RAIS is a non-governmental organization, apolitical and non-lucrative. RAIS was found in 1981 in order to actualize and apply ancestral knowledge. Its work is based on the conservation of philosophy and historic memory that we inherited from indigenous people. The Kal Tunal School is the first one in the country which transmits, within its theory and practice, the traditional indigenous techniques of weaving, in order for students to acquire a good technique to become a weaver. The artisans formed to the weaving come from communities in the departments of San Salvador and La Paz . |
